And for mountain bikers, the eastern Algarve has a range of great challenges in store, with trails through the uplands and the transitional “barrocal” area. This area is growing in popularity among mountain biking fans, largely due to the Algarve Bike Challenge competition that goes through the uplands of Tavira after an evening prologue in the city.

But that’s not all. If you want to explore by bike, Golden Club Cabanas is ideally situated about 1 km from the Coastal Ecovia, a green corridor that stretches for 214 km and connects Cape Saint Vincent in Sagres to Vila Real de Santo António. This ecovia is part of the EuroVelo European Cycle Route Network’s Route No. 1, the Atlantic Coast Route that connects the far south-western tip of Europe to the North Cape in Scandinavia.
