A firsthand account of Marta’s family holiday

Golden Club Cabanas is the perfect hotel, not just for anyone wanting a holiday in the Algarve, but particularly for those wanting an all-inclusive family hotel. Bearing in mind how complex and tiring it can be to travel with children, the Tavira resort has created several activities and amenities designed to welcome families and keep children entertained during their stay.

Marta, digital content creator of the page “A Caverna da Marta” visited Golden Club Cabanas with her family and told us about her holiday experience in the Algarve. With 4 children, one of whom is just 9 months old it is not always easy to find holiday apartments in the Algarve that can cater for a large family and activities for children.

How was your stay at Golden Club Cabanas?

Our stay at Golden Club Cabanas was fantastic. We loved the apartment and all the amenities; being completely child-friendly is a very strong point. And we are a large family! It’s rare to find apartments with comfortable accommodation for 6 people. We loved the terrace, which was fantastic in the evenings. The hotel’s entertainment is great; the pool is designed for families and super safe for babies. The walk to the beach is really lovely and the boat crossing is something the whole family enjoys.

In the Eastern Algarve specifically, which are your favourite places?

This is the part of the Algarve that we’re least familiar with! But we loved the huts in Tavira, Barril beach, Cacela Velha. There’s so much more to explore, a good reason to come back!

What do you prefer: accommodation-only holidays, so you’re free to prepare your own meals, or an all-inclusive hotel for complete relaxation?

An all-inclusive for sure! Especially with a 9 month old baby, it was great to be able to have our meals in the hotel’s restaurant. Taking 4 kids on holiday and having to cook is not easy! It ends up being a “semi-vacation”. With an all-inclusive we get to enjoy our holiday a lot more as we don’t have to worry about meals. At Golden there are options for everyone, even for those with food intolerances. Duarte’s food was always adapted to his needs and it was great!

If you had to, which would you choose, beach or pool?

At Golden Club Cabanas, definitely pool! It was impossible to get the kids away from the pool and the hotel’s entertainment!

What does a family holiday mean to you?

It means being present! It means truly being with family, leaving the world “out there” and making the holiday about everyone just being happy! Practicing equal value and understanding everyone’s needs.

What is a must-have on your holidays?

Music! Wherever we go we need to have music! Entertainment is essential. And a comfortable bed! We need a good rest!

Would you say Golden Club Cabanas is somewhere where you can make great memories?

It’s a fabulous place! We can’t wait to come back!
